Modern battery-powered applications, ranging from IOT, like wireless sensors and wearable to industrial applications, are continually driving compact packaging and the highest efficiency standards for longest battery life.This presentation will feature power design examples like new package technologies as well as the combined wide VIN and 400nA Iq innovation - especially where the perfect matching of silicon and magnetic components achieve the twin goals of miniaturization and efficiency. We will also discuss the use of innovative composite material to minimize the impact of ambient temperature changes on key inductor parameters.

Speakers

  • Flavio Sestagalli works as Technical Marketing Engineer in Europe for Coilcraft. In this role he offers technical and marketing support to IC Houses application engineers during design phase of reference boards, discussing and recommending suitable solutions. He reports back to Corporate Marketing and Engineering Dept. for new products design, cooperating in specification definition phase. He prepares technical notes for new products and creates presentations for seminars and exhibitions. He received his Ph.D. degree in Electronics at Politecnico di Milano - Italy
     
  • Florian Feckl works as an Analog Power Application Engineer for Texas Instruments’ ALPS Group. In this role, he is part of the development team, holds trainings, supports worldwide customers and develops Reference Designs. Since 2013, he is focusing on Ultra Low Power Applications like Wearable and IoT. Florian received his Master of Engineering (Embedded Systems) in 2012.
