How to design PCBs with embedded antennas

Chris Tomlin, Director of Antenna Applications at Antnova M2M, advises on designing PCBs with embedded antennas – and getting the design right first time. We look at PCB Structure and Layout, Placement and the Matching network. Antenova’s antenna designs all aim to simplify the design-in stage.  Chris also highlights Antenova’s latest antennas: the new LP-WA antenna, the Inversa diversity pair antennas for 4G/LTE, and the Reflector antennas for smart city applications. Lastly we introduce two free apps for design engineers: Antenova’s free Transmission Line Calculator Tool and the intelligent Antenna selection online tool.
